What is Infocow?

Infocow is a web site that connects young people with useful sites, stories, information and inspiration to help them take control of life.
The site is a dynamic resource that supports young people to navigate the huge amount of information available to them and share what they find with others.

By searching or browsing about their interests, young people can explore possible opportunities, find new routes to pursue, make positive changes in their lives and be inspired by others. The site has been developed alongside young people and links to online spaces they occupy, like Facebook.

Infocow brings together a vast collection of sites and resources that are aimed at and intended for young people, in an accessible and engaging format, useful for young people and those who work with them.

Informative about young people’s rights and how young people can put them into action

How you can use Infocow

While Infocow can and is often used directly by young people, it is also a valuable and easy-to-use tool for schools and teachers.

Infocow:

  • Provides clear links with the KS3/4 National Curriculum, particularly in the areas of PSHE and Citizenship
  • Develops digital literacy skills by helping learners search effectively, consider sources and reliability of information and see a range of sites and opportunities they may rarely encounter
  • Supports learners to interact with digital tools, rather than just consume information

We’ve worked with teachers to create exciting lesson plans that link to the PSHE and Citizenship areas of the curriculum as starting points.

You can download these lesson plans in PDF format or Doc format .
